Job Title:  Lead Senior Systems Admin (UNIX/Linux)

Location: Dahlgren VA

Clearance: DoD Top Secret

Job Responsibilities:

·        Monitor system health and performance

·        Troubleshoot and resolve system issues across hardware, software, and network layers

·        Maintain and manage storage systems

·        Manage system backup and recovery

·        Coordinate with external hardware, network, and infrastructure teams

·        Provide after-hours on-call and call-in support as needed

·        Ensure compliance with system security requirements

·        Participate in technical and engineering discussions

·        Create and maintain system-level scripts and automation tools

·        Apply system patches and perform upgrades

·        Administer and manage user accounts

·        Maintain accurate hardware and asset inventory records

Job Requirements:  

Six (6) years of professional experience in UNIX and/or Linux system administration of networks

and software systems. Experience in system backup and recovery; basic software management;

security management and library management; installation and configuration of hardware;

operational systems and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software; operating computer systems

in different operating environments; and sizing, performance, tuning, hardware/software/network

trouble shooting and resource allocation. Experience in different network protocols including TCP/IP and major network security tools such as firewalls, knowledge of computing and networking vulnerabilities, attach methods, and latest detection methods

Demonstrable experience in writing business/project plans, technical documents, presentations and proposals required.  Individual must have high degree of skills with the MS Office toolsets.

Candidate will work on-site.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT related field is preferred.

Certifications

DoD 8570 IAT III.  One of the following certifications is required

-        CASP CE

-        CCNP Security

-        CISA

-        CISSP or CISSP Associate

-        GCED

-        GCIH

Security Clearance

DoD Top Secret with the ability to get a Top Secret clearance
