Project Engineer
to join our Engineering team and play a critical role in ensuring successful project launches, prototyping, and ongoing product support.
Job Summary
The Project Engineer will serve as a key technical liaison between Centro and its customers, ensuring feasibility, quality, and timely execution of projects. This role involves supervising prototyping, coordinating tooling and production launches, and maintaining projects through engineering changes and improvements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering evaluation requests
and communicate project feasibility to sales and customer contacts. - Manage proposals and submissions
in accordance with PPAP work instructions. - Finalize BOMs, tooling specifications, and purchase orders
to support project launches. - Supervise prototype runs
including fixture construction, sample approval, packaging, and timely sample delivery. - Ensure smooth production start-ups
by training associates and resolving non-conformances. - Maintain project documentation
including revisions, improvements, and customer approvals of drawings. - Support continuous improvement initiatives
in quality, safety, and customer service. - Collaborate cross-functionally
with sales, manufacturing, and product development teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
or equivalent training/experience preferred. - Proficiency in Pro/Engineer (Creo)
including model manipulation and fixture design. - Strong analytical skills with ability to apply math and physics to engineering problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to read technical drawings, use hand/power tools, and perform essential physical functions (walking, climbing stairs, visual inspections).
Work Environment & Schedule
- Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
- Flexibility required to respond to urgent customer or manufacturing needs.
