What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parent Liaison position at Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe?
The Parent Involvement Program Specialist main role is to work collaboratively with the Principal, Assistant Principal, teachers, and Parents in operating a district wide Parent Involvement/Volunteer Program. Coordinate and work with staff to complete parent volunteer activities. Assure that the NCLB Parent Component is adhered by designing a program that develops strategies to increase parent Involvement. Coordinates or assists in Community Activities to make certain La Fe Preparatory is well represented.
Responsibilities Schedule:
Must be able to work a flexible time schedule to include days, nights and weekends.
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Parent Involvement
1. Design and implement a program that develops strategies to increase parent involvement.
2. Coordinate the activities provided by participants of the Parent Involvement/Volunteer Program by working directly with campus administrators and administrative office staff.
3. Coordinate and conduct the orientation, training and recruitment sessions for parents. Monitor hours, evaluate and document activities of La Fe Preparatory parent/community volunteer.
4. Develop and/or revise program materials (i.e., recruitment, fliers, record keeping forms, end of the year evaluation forms, and handbooks).
5. Conduct an annual parent involvement survey to determine the needs of the campus.
6. Reviews Campus Improvement Plan to assure parental components are addressed.
7. Maintains a program website.
8. Work collaboratively with campus personnel for a federal compliant parental program.
9. Assists with Parent Night and Parents as Partners Program.
10. Assist with other duties assigned
Other Responsibilities
1. Participate in professional development activities as required by the district.
2. Follow established safety procedures to perform job duties; support district goals.
3. Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in supervision of similar parent/community volunteer programs
- Proficient in the use of technology
- Must be proficient in English and Spanish
- Must have strong writing and communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience preparing and writing agendas, brochures, pamphlets, training manual, etc.
- Experience in event coordination/orientations with public/customer groups
- Assist in coordinating parent/teacher staff development summit
- Experience in coordinating fund raising activities
- Able to work cooperatively with supervisors, colleagues, parents, and students
- Dedicated to the vision of the parent organization of Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe, Inc. and understands the history and culture of the Segundo Barrio
