About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on HSE Manager to lead and centralize safety, environmental, and training functions across multiple manufacturing sites. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with the authority to stop work when safety or environmental risks are identified.

The ideal candidate is practical, organized, and confident in the field — someone who can build structure where needed, leverage technology to improve training systems, and communicate expectations clearly and firmly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and centralize HSE programs across three regional manufacturing facilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain OSHA-compliant safety programs and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations, permits, and reporting requirements
  • Oversee environmental monitoring activities including soil testing, stormwater/runoff controls, and waste handling practices
  • Coordinate required environmental inspections, sampling, and third-party testing as needed
  • Build and manage a structured safety training calendar using modern tools and systems
  • Conduct and coordinate safety and environmental trainings for plant personnel
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, near-miss events, and environmental releases; drive corrective actions
  • Perform routine site audits and ensure consistent HSE standards across locations
  • Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe or non-compliant conditions are identified
  • Create and continuously improve safety and environmental materials, SOPs, and training content
  • Partner with operations leadership to strengthen safety and environmental accountability
  • Track and maintain all required OSHA and environmental records, logs, and compliance items

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 5 years of progressive HSE/safety experience in manufacturing, steel, industrial, or similar environment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and core environmental compliance obligations
  • Experience coordinating safety training and incident investigations
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple sites and priorities
  • Comfortable being firm, direct, and vocal regarding safety expectations
  • Proficiency with Excel and safety or training management software
  • Willingness to travel regionally

Preferred:

  • CSP, CHST, or similar safety certification
  • Experience with environmental permitting, stormwater compliance, or waste management
  • Engineering or technical background
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience in steel, pipe, or heavy manufacturing environments

What Success Looks Like

  • Safety and environmental programs are structured, tracked, and consistently executed
  • OSHA and environmental compliance items are current and audit-ready
  • Sites demonstrate improved safety discipline and environmental stewardship
  • Training programs are modern, organized, and well-documented
  • Expectations are clearly communicated and enforced across operations

Why Join Us

  • High-visibility role with meaningful operational influence
  • Opportunity to build and modernize safety and environmental systems
  • Stable industrial environment with growth potential
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
