We are currently seeking highly qualified, certified secondary (6-12) science teachers that would provide asynchronous online instruction and feedback to students who attend our U.S. and International partner schools.

Non-Negotiables:

• A history of achieving excellence at facilitating engaging lessons based on state and national science standards
• Student-centered approach to education and a fluency with online teaching tools
• Experience facilitating live, synchronous online instruction to middle school/high school aged students

PURPOSE:

Our highly effective online teachers facilitate synchronous online instruction using our award winning project based learning curriculum. Additionally they grade student work, provide high quality feedback on student work, design engaging learning opportunities for students, and collaborate with other staff members to support student achievement. This position is a remote position that allows you the flexibility to work at home.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a valid and current U.S. teaching certificate in secondary science, Secondary Teaching Certification with the Science DX endorsement preferred.
• Federal background check and fingerprinting are required.
• Must have experience as a secondary (middle school or high school) science teacher.

LOCATION: 100% Remote

Prefer Michigan home based candidates due to Michigan Teaching Certification requirement, but we can use your out-of-state certification to gain a Michigan endorsement.

PAY$20.00 PER HOUR; PART-TIME HOURS

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILL:

• Understanding of multidisciplinary project-based learning
• Organized, reflective, participatory, and punctual
• Understanding of data-driven decision making to plan and improve instructional practices
• Experience with online Learning Management System
• Understanding and use of Professional Learning Community interactions

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Teachers will be highly qualified in their endorsement area, be proficient in the use of technology, and work collaboratively with colleagues to meet the needs of our school and our students.
