Role Description The Service Manager – Elevator Industry is a full-time, on-site role based in Portland, OR. This position oversees daily service operations, including scheduling and dispatching technicians, coordinating maintenance and repair activities, and ensuring service work meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Service Manager works closely with customers to address service needs, provide status updates, and resolve escalated issues in a professional and timely manner. Responsibilities include supervising field staff, reviewing service reports, supporting modernization and installation projects, and monitoring performance metrics to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction. The role also involves collaboration with leadership on budgeting, resource planning, and process improvements to support steady growth in the Portland market.
Qualifications
- Experience in elevator, escalator, or lift service management, including oversight of maintenance, repair, and modernization activities STRONGLY preferred.
- Strong operations and scheduling skills, with the ability to coordinate field technicians, manage work orders, and prioritize customer needs.
- Proven customer service and communication skills for interacting with clients, resolving issues, and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Leadership experience, including supervising teams, coaching technicians, and promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
- Ability to analyze service data, monitor KPIs, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service reliability.
- Basic financial and administrative skills for supporting budgeting, cost control, and documentation of service activities.
- Comfort working on-site in a field-oriented environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as sales and project management.
- Prior experience in the elevator industry or a related mechanical/electrical trade is strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or relevant associate degree is a plus.
