This position supports Northtown Flooring, a subcontracting division of Centric, focused on delivering projects with the same excellence and client-first mindset that defines the Centric brand.
Position Objective
The Laborer position performs a wide range of physical labor tasks for the flooring installers during the construction phase of the project.
Essential Job Functions
- Clean and prepare specific areas of the job site as assigned, including cleaning up rubble, debris, and trash or removing hazardous materials
- Assist Flooring Installers as assigned. This may include jobs such as demolition, carrying jobsite materials, and various other construction-related tasks
- Prepare floors for flooring installation
- Apply flooring sundries as requested
- Maintain a construction site that is well-organized and clear of debris
- Load and unload construction materials to assist in job site progress
- Safely operate a wide variety of hand and power tools
- Utilize light industrial equipment to complete larger labor tasks as directed by the onsite Foreman or other members of field management
- Utilize knowledge of all local, state, and federal safety regulations to ensure labor tasks are completed in a safe manner
- Work 8-hour shifts that, at times, will require overtime/night & weekend work in order to get the job accomplished
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license is required
- OHSA-10 certification is required within 30 days of employment

- Ability to understand directions
- Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade
- Works well as part of a team
- Takes directions well
- Able to accomplish tasks with minimal manager supervision
- Maintains composure and professionalism in difficult situations
- Utilizes technology and is able to use it when necessary to communicate with supervisors and other associates
