What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete/Mason Technician position at Centre County, Pennsylvania?
- Requires advanced knowledge of masonry repair techniques such as parging, repointing, and grouting.
- Must have the ability and knowledge to remove and replace sidewalk with code compliant ADA sidewalk.
- Must be able to accurately estimate materials needed to complete a task.
- Works from schematics and blueprints to plan, layout and repair brick façade and sidewalk.
- Must have knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for curb and sidewalk.
- Must have knowledge of the correct concrete, mortar, etc. for the task at hand.
- Knowledge to perform tile laying and hardscaping tasks as needed.
- Requires strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftmanship.
- Requires experience with concrete finishing techniques and forming processes.
- Assists Facilities Superintendent with work and/or assignments as requested.
- Performs maintenance work as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
Qualifications
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school in masonry or concrete technology preferred. OSHA 10 preferred or the ability to be obtained within one (1) year of date of hire. OSHA Aerial & Scissor Lift Certification Training required or obtained within one (1) year of date of hire. Required Experience: Ten (10) years’ experience in masonry or concrete work is preferred. Other Requirements: Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and a willingness to travel as needed.
