What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community/Corrections Specialist (PO1) position at Centre County Government?
Essential Job Functions
- Assists with the collection and preparation of fiscal and program data, and the preparation of intermediate punishment reports to the Court.
- Assists in the placement and monitoring of offenders sentenced to intermediate punishment and other community corrections programs.
- Supervises offenders placed on the In-Home Detention/Electronic Monitoring Program and other intermediate punishment sentences.
- Assists with the placement, monitoring, and supervision of offenders assigned to perform community service work.
- Helps facilitate and coordinate meetings among interested offices and agencies concerning the delivery of intermediate punishment services.
- Assists in the arrest and prosecution of adult and juvenile offenders in violation of intermediate punishment and other court-ordered supervision.
- Assists in the preparation and monitoring of intermediate punishment grants.
- Helps collect program and fiscal data pertaining to intermediate punishment and other community corrections programs.
- Interacts with the Court, County offices, and state agencies to ensure that services are being delivered appropriately.
- Utilizes computer and relevant software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and statistical programs, graphics, and databases in order to collect, identify, and present relevant intermediate punishment data and reports.
- Assists in the preparation of written materials pertaining to intermediate punishment and community corrections.
- Attends meetings, trainings, and seminars as required.
- Interacts with other County departments and outside agencies on behalf of programs and offenders.
- Works closely with other Probation and Parole staff in regard to offender issues, including arrest of alleged violators.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
