ASB (Associated Student Body) Secretary
Reports to: Principal Location: Centralia High School

Job Summary:
The ASB Secretary supports student leadership and school activities by managing administrative functions. This role provides secretarial, bookkeeping, and clerical support to administrators, facilitate ASB processes, oversee ASB budgets along with fund raisers and purchases; support the athletic department with communications and inventory; and maintain accurate financial records and communicate such information to pertinent public and school personnel. This position ensures smooth communication between students, staff, and the school community, while maintaining records, budgets, and compliance with district policies.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of ASB laws and regulations
- Two years of office experience, including office procedures, accounting, financial or statistical records maintenance, and public relations
- Ability to maintain timely and professional lines of communication with students, families, staff, and building administration
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, meet deadlines, maintain records and catalog information
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, listen actively, and maintain confidentiality
- Customer-service oriented, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families
- Proficiency with general office equipment and computer applications
- Knowledge of basic accounting practices, problem solving methodology, and modern office methods
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, possess awareness (for self and others), listen actively, be patient, incorporate humor/lightheartedness into work, be empathic, possess a growth mindset, and be customer-service oriented
- Ability to support the District’s vision, mission, and goals including the belief that all students can succeed

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting student activities, student councils, or youth organizations
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Experience using Skyward, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms
- Knowledge of school budgeting, event planning, and student leadership programs
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse student populations
Essential Functions:
- Provide administrative support to the ASB program, including filing, record-keeping, and correspondence
- Assist with planning, promoting, and coordinating student events, assemblies, and fundraisers
- Maintain accurate ASB financial records and assist with budget tracking and reporting
- Serve as a liaison between students, staff, and administration regarding ASB activities
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and materials for ASB meetings and leadership activities
- Assist students with applications, forms, and procedural questions related to ASB participation
- Manage ASB-related communications, including emails, newsletters, and social media updates
- Track participation and provide reports on student involvement and event outcomes
- Support implementation of the District’s vision, mission, goals, and Culture Code
- Attend trainings, meetings, and school events as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary: $26.17 - $30.34 per hour, depending on qualifications
Work Schedule: 201 days per year (including 11 holidays) – M-F, 8 hours per day
This position may have evening requirements for school functions throughout the year, such as training, meetings, and school or community events.
