CVEC is looking for a Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Coordinator responsible for maintaining, investigating, inspecting and testing facilities and equipment for headquarters, Firefly, and the 3 division offices to assure all facilities are properly maintained, and related equipment operates in accordance with all code standards and specifications. Coordinates improvements, repairs and maintenance through outside services; performs improvements, repairs and maintenance where qualified to do so.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspects, tests, and maintains headquarters, divisions, fiber warehouses, and Firefly office including water systems, heating and air-conditioning systems, and electrical systems. Works with outside contractors when needed to accomplish above tasks.

  • Assists with and coordinates snow removal, landscaping and lawn maintenance, backup generator maintenance, and facility cleaning for headquarters, divisions, fiber warehouses, and Firefly office, including substations & fiber hut locations.

  • Maintains records of contracts and insurance certifications for facility maintenance contractors.

  • Approve facility and maintenance related invoices and maintain payment and maintenance records.

  • Assist warehouse personnel with storm prep and restoration when needed.

  • Coordinates the construction of new facilities, improvements, additions, or remodel of existing facilities in compliance with budgeted costs and timeline.

  • Regularly visits field locations, fiber huts & warehouses, and division offices to perform inspections, advise on repairs and maintain equipment. Perform periodic inspections of fire extinguishers, drop cords, receptacles, exit signage, and AED's.

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, building plans, and manuals to properly maintain and repair facilities and equipment.

  • Maintain and update all forms and records on facilities equipment and service equipment maintenance. Analyzes records and schedules equipment maintenance.

  • Perform or coordinate and oversee general facilities maintenance.

  • Assists the Purchasing/Inventory Control & Facilities Supervisor with preparation of annual capital budget for headquarters, divisions, fiber warehouses, and Firefly office, including substations & fiber hut locations.

  • Maintains timeline and schedule for bidding routine services to comply with company policy.

  • Respond to and resolve reported facility issues. Provide follow up communication once issue has been resolved.

  • Attend all required safety and department meetings.

 Required Qualifications:

  High school diploma or equivalent

  Post high school coursework in HVAC systems, Electrical or Plumbing

   Three to Five Years of related experience.

        Preferred Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Certification in HVAC Systems, Electrical, or Plumbing .
  • Project Management

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:

  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
  • Fork Lift Certification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  1. Mechanical aptitude

  2. Knowledge of electrical wiring, grounding and circuitry.

  3. Ability to effectively interact with employees and the public.

  4. Computer proficiency.

  5. Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

  6. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

  7. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 

  8. Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.

Hourly Pay Rate: $27.71 - 32.00 /hour depending on experience
