Job Description
Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs
This position will assist in the office and administrative work for the counseling office.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Experience assisting with office activities and administrative duties. Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written) with a variety of customers. Must have experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel. Must possess interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent customer service skills. Applicants must be able to work independently under pressure, assist multiple staff members and diverse student population. Possess the ability to multi-task with changing priorities, and to use problem-solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Additional Considerations
Training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Knowledge of PeopleSoft Student Information System (SIS). Knowledge of the organization and operations of state government and experience in an education environment.
