Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician III to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including low voltage, high voltage, and industrial controls using schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Read and interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to accurately execute installation and maintenance tasks.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to diagnose issues and verify system functionality.
- Work on renovation projects by updating or replacing existing electrical infrastructure in commercial or industrial environments.
- Follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards to ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with construction teams by performing frame carpentry or handyman tasks as needed to support electrical installations.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems on construction sites or facilities to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports, schematics updates, and compliance records.
- Assist in training or mentoring junior electricians by sharing knowledge about schematics reading, low/high voltage systems, or NEC requirements.
Experience
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems and construction site environments.
- Extensive hands-on experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, blueprints reading, and troubleshooting complex electrical circuits.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely with high voltage (HV) systems while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Familiarity with low voltage wiring systems for security alarms, data networks, or building automation controls.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools like drills; testing equipment including ohmmeters; and power tools for installation tasks.
- Experience working on renovation projects involving existing structures requiring careful planning and precise execution.
- Construction site experience that emphasizes safety procedures, teamwork, and efficient project completion.
- Knowledge of schematics interpretation for both commercial and industrial electrical systems.
