Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Diesel Technician / Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our team in Casper, WY. This position is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles, and related equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical ability, good diagnostic habits, and the ability to document repairs clearly and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, oil services, brake repairs, HVAC repairs, and general mechanical repairs.
- Diagnose and repair air brake, suspension, steering, driveline, hydraulic, electrical, and aftertreatment systems.
- Use scan tools, service information, wiring diagrams, and test equipment to troubleshoot faults.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment for safety, reliability, and needed repairs.
- Document technician notes, repairs performed, parts used, and recommendations clearly and accurately.
- Communicate repair findings and recommendations to the service manager, team members, and customers as needed.
- Operate shop equipment safely, including lifts, jacks, forklifts, overhead cranes, or service truck cranes when applicable.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Work as part of a team to complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Diesel truck, trailer, fleet, or heavy equipment repair experience.
- Experience with Cummins, Allison, Detroit, PACCAR, ABS, medium-duty diesels, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of air brake systems, electrical diagnostics, suspension, HVAC, hydraulics, and aftertreatment systems.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, follow diagnostic procedures, and use electronic service information.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete accurate repair stories and inspection notes.
- Welding, fabrication, DOT inspection, CDL, or field service experience is a plus.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of mechanical repair experience; diesel or heavy-duty experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Own basic hand tools or willingness to build a tool set.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs and perform physical shop work, including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working around heavy equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay
$20.83-30.42 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
Starting wage is based on experience, diagnostic ability, certifications, and overall fit for the position.
Expected Hours
Minimum of 40 hours per week. Overtime may be available as needed.
