We also hold the industry’s most modern fleet with our tractors & trailers having an average age of 2.5 years old. Central Transport is seeking a highly motivated and trustworthy Salvage Supervisor for our 504 facility location. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong work ethic, integrity, and the ability to work independently. A significant portion of each day—often half or more—will be spent operating a forklift.
Given the high theft-risk nature of this department, we strongly prefer an internal candidate with demonstrated reliability and someone who can be vouched for.
Position: Salvage Supervisor
Location: Detroit, MI (1241 14th Street, Detroit MI 48216)
Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-4:00pm
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Proven track record of integrity and reliability
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work daily
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Unload 3–6 salvage trailers daily & help recoup damaged freight.
- Classify all freight by value and sale method
- Load outbound freight into trailers based on classification
- Prepare and complete accurate manifests for all sale trailers
- Coordinate delivery of all sale trailers
- Recover freight from sale trailers for claims processing
- Arrange recovery of sale trailers dropped at buyer locations
- Coordinate the return of claim-related freight from buyers
- Supervise and support one dock worker
- Manage the salvage trailer pool for both Detroit, MI & Pontiac, MI
