Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Aide to support our Head Start classroom and learning environment for children. This person must be able to plan and carry out a daily program designed to meet the physical and developmental needs of a group of children. This person must be able to effectively supervise children in the classroom, be sensitive to the needs of individual children and relate well to both the children and adults. Ensure compliance state licensing regulations and CCAA policies and procedures that directly impact the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Implementation of lesson plans tailored to preschool and infant/toddler age groups.
- Facilitate literacy education activities that enhance skills among students.
- Engage students in math-related activities to build foundational skills in a fun and interactive manner.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
- Provide individualized support to students, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
- Encourage positive social interactions among students to promote teamwork and cooperation.
Qualifications
- Experience or education in early childhood education, special education, or a related field is preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with young children, especially those with diverse needs.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that respects the individuality of each child.
