What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Advisor / Operations Manager position at Central Texas Mobile Fleet Services?
Job Summary
Are you a logistical mastermind who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a Operations Manager / Service Advisor to lead our mobile fleet service division. This isn't a "desk job"—it’s the nerve center of our operation.
You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of mobile service: from the initial customer distress call to dispatching our mobile mechanics across Austin, sourcing parts on the fly, and ensuring our clients' businesses keep moving. We are co-branded with Richard Petty Fleet Services and Fleet Services International, meaning you’ll be representing a national standard of excellence.
Core Responsibilities
- Command & Control: Manage dispatching for mobile units operating from 6:00 AM to Midnight.
- Customer Logistics: Act as the primary point of contact for prominent business owners and fleet managers; translate vehicle issues into actionable work orders.
- Operational Oversight: Order parts and supplies for field delivery, finalize service tickets, and manage mobile payment collections.
- Sales & Growth: Prospect new fleet accounts, generate leads, and "close the deal" to expand our Austin footprint.
- Fleet Relations: Maintain and grow long-term relationships with industry leaders who rely on our 18-hour operational window.
What We’re Looking For
- The "Air Traffic Controller": You must be highly organized, responsive, and able to juggle multiple mobile units simultaneously.
- The Relationship Builder: High integrity with a "Team Player" attitude.
- The Self-Starter: You don’t wait for instructions; you see a bottleneck in the schedule and you clear it.
- The Communicator: Exceptional verbal/written skills (Bilingual in Spanish is a major plus).
- The Closer: Proven customer service experience with a history of meeting goals.
Requirements
- Commitment: Ability to work 40 hours per week (Must be flexible to co-ordinate jobs with customers and technicians within our 6 AM – Midnight operating window).
- Credentials: High school diploma/GED and a valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
- Vetting: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Professional History: Must provide contact information for previous employers.
