What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Clinical Instructor - AD Nursing BSN position at Central Texas College?
Summary of Position
To assist the qualified Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program Faculty with clinical learning experiences. To provide necessary supervision and instruction to ADN students in the clinical or simulated setting.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required.
A minimum of 3 years recent full time wage earning nursing experience in the anticipated clinical are is required.
Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
Current CPR certification for the Health Care Provider or equivalent.
Knowledge Skills and Ability
- Have the clinical expertise to function effectively and safely in the designated area of teaching.
- Competence in all basic skills of nursing practice.
- Knowledge of the integral components of a simulated learning experience.
- Communicate professionally with students, clinical faculty, and agency personnel.
- Basic Black Board competency.
- Eligible for coverage under CTC’s commercial auto and other liability insurance policies.
Essential Functions
- Flexibility in working with students in area of clinical expertise at required times and locations.
- Ability to work cooperatively and constructively with faculty and with nursing service personnel in clinical agencies.
- To know and follow the policies of the Nursing Department, the affiliated clinical facility, and sound teaching practices while supervising students in the clinical or simulation area.
- Facilitates, guides, and supervises students’ progress in the laboratory/simulation and clinical area.
- Meet periodically with designated faculty for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating simulation and /or clinical learning experiences.
- Be committed to professional development and competence.
- To communicate with and work under the direction of the course lead instructor and the faculty member(s) to whom assigned.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
