JOB SUMMARY
Central Taqueria is an authentic Mexican restaurant proudly serving the Morristown community. We are the recipient of the prestigious Sello M certification — an official recognition of authentic Mexican cuisine awarded to a select few restaurants in the United States. We are a team built on culture, pride, and a passion for great food. We are looking for motivated, bilingual individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to grow with us. The Cashier is the face of Central Taqueria. You will be responsible for delivering a warm, efficient guest experience from the moment a customer walks in. Beyond the register, you will be a key contributor to the team's daily operations, stepping into different roles as needed to ensure smooth service throughout every shift.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet every guest with enthusiasm and provide knowledgeable, friendly service
- Process orders accurately using our POS system and handle cash and card transactions
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and floor staff in both English and Spanish
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-of-house area
- Step into cross-functional roles (food prep support, order packaging, dining area upkeep) during slow periods
- Support opening and closing procedures as scheduled
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards at all times
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Fully bilingual — fluent in both English and Spanish (required)
- Strong communicator with a team-first mindset and natural leadership presence
- Able to stay calm, focused, and positive under pressure during peak service hours
- Willingness to take on cross-role tasks during downtime — no task is too small
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistency
- Prior experience in food service or retail is a plus, but not required — we train great people.
