Central Southern Construction is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to support our pavement preservation and underground utility operations. This role is responsible for ensuring all work is performed in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements across multiple job sites.
Position Summary
The Quality Control Manager will oversee inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination related to pavement preservation treatments and underground utility construction. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, field crews, and clients to maintain consistent quality and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee quality control programs for pavement preservation activities including crack sealing, slurry seal, microsurfacing, surface treatments, and related roadway work
Manage quality control for underground utility installations including water, sewer, storm drain, and associated trenching and restoration
Ensure compliance with contract documents, project specifications, and applicable standards
Perform and document inspections, testing, and verification of materials and workmanship
Coordinate with third-party inspectors, laboratories, and agency representatives as required
Maintain accurate QC records, daily reports, test results, and corrective action documentation
Identify quality issues early and work with field teams to implement corrective measures
Support project closeout documentation and final acceptance
Promote safety, quality, and best practices across all job sites
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in pavement preservation, roadway construction, or underground utility work
Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, inspection methods, and testing requirements
Experience working with DOT, municipal, and utility authority specifications
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficient with field documentation and reporting tools
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications
QCM or QC certification from a DOT or recognized agency
NICET, ACI, or similar construction-related certifications
Experience managing QC programs on multiple concurrent projects
