Warehouse Manager - School Nutrition
Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools
Reports to: Director of School Nutrition
Supervises: None
Purpose: Perform all tasks to ensure foods and products are secured in a safe environment, stored or transported according to HACCP regulations, and available to schools as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Process, verify, and deliver requested orders accurately
- Rotate stock and manage inventory according to HACCP regulations
- Inspect products for defects and damages
- Examine incoming and outgoing shipments
- Organize warehouse space, inside and outside of facilities
- Receive, unload, and place incoming inventory items appropriately
- Transport food as needed to off-site locations or school sites for food service
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data in the inventory software
- Safeguard warehouse operations and its contents by establishing and monitoring security protocols
- Perform HACCP monthly food defense plan functions
- Maintain accurate transfer records of all products moved between schools or warehouse facilities
- Maintain equipment and perform repairs or maintenance as necessary
- Maintain a constant check of safety standards and implement corrections when needed
- Basic computer skills to include use of Microsoft and Google Suite
- Promote teamwork and provide assistance as needed
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time, up to 8 hours, with the ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively
- Must be able to stoop, squat, bend, twist, stretch, turn, lift, and carry
- Ability to operate computer point of sale programs, inventory programs
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Ability to work in extreme temperature changes; from a hot humid environment with no air conditioning to a below zero freezer space
- Must be courteous and pleasant with students, parents, faculty and vendors
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Must be proficient in math
Training and Experience:
- Associate’s degree preferred, high school diploma required. Must be certified to operate a forklift or working towards certification. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Salary: Grade 63; Hourly
Full-time 12 month employment
