Curriculum & Instructional Management Coordinator

Reports to: CTE Director
Purpose: The Curriculum & Instructional Management Coordinator (CIMC) supports CTE by providing support to the director and educators in the field of Career & Technical Education. The CIMC works directly with teachers, supporting where needed, in all CTE program areas. The CIMC may write lesson plans, co-teach, and assist teachers with instructional technology. The CIMC helps bring CTE programs together, connecting CTE with Spark NC.
Responsibilities:
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The purpose of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum and Instructional Management (CIM) is to provide schools with a computerized system that can be used to:
- Disseminate essential standards in the form of blueprints for courses,
- Provide instructional strategies to teach essential standards containing 21st century content,
- Provide formative, benchmark, performance, and summative assessments,
- Document student achievement and academic growth,
- Ensure assessment and credential fidelity, and
- Provide accountability data to local and state stakeholders.
PROGRAM DESIGN
CTE CIM is a standards-based, computer-supported systems that encompasses:
- Instructional planning informed by data,
- 21st century assessment of students using technology tools for delivery,
- Aggregated and disaggregated reports by student, by class, by teacher, by school, by LEA, and by state,
- Involvement of business representatives, local administrators, and teachers, and
- Comprehensive, customized professional development for all CTE teachers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The LEA CTE CIMC:
- Provides support to CTE teachers and personnel within the local school system,
- Assists with implementing CTE curriculum,
- Provides technical support and training for CTE teachers and other CTE staff on utilizing the CTE computerized instructional management system,
- Provides assistance and support to CTE teachers and other CTE staff to improve the instructional process, document student learning, and improve student outcomes to ensure the success of students in a high wage, high-skill, or high-demand global economy, and
- Prepares an annual CIMC Calendar of Work
- Special Projects and Other Duties as Assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
Required Years of Work Experience: 5 years within the past 8 years of related work experience
Examples of Related Work Experience: Classroom teacher in a CTE area; Career Development Coordinator, Special Populations Coordinator, or curriculum/instructional specialist
Required Courses: “Foundations of Coaching” (via Constructive Learning Design) or other equivalent instructor coaching training program.
Examples of other equivalent instruction coaching programs include: Certification of Instructional Coaches (via Instructional Coaching Group), Cognitive Coaching Seminars (via Thinking Collaborative), or Certified Evocative Coach (via Center for School Transformation)
Required Credentials: Current teaching license in any CTE area or current license as Curriculum Instructional Specialist or current license as Instructional Technology Specialist; MOS Excel prior to add on or before the end of the provisional license period
Required Induction: NC DPI sponsored CIMC Induction Program Notes: Contact state level CIMC for enrollment information for induction
Other Skills Required:
Ideally, experience successfully leading a team of adults to accomplish goals, though not necessarily as a formal leader
Demonstrated effectiveness working with people who have differing cultural backgrounds and/or personal characteristics, including race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or economic differences.
Evidence of taking initiative and being a self-motivated individual
Salary: State Salary schedule plus local supplement
Hours: Full-time position - 10 months
