Accounting Assistant - Great Falls, MT

Central Plumbing, Heating, Excavation (Central) is a respected mechanical and excavation contractor performing commercial projects across Montana. As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated Accounting Assistant to join our team. With offices in Great Falls and Bozeman, Central supports projects and operations throughout the region.

The Accounting Assistant supports the accounting department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing billing and payments, and assisting with equipment and administrative reporting. This position is based in our Great Falls office. We offer great wages and benefits to qualified applicants.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Process monthly contract billing
• Record and deposit all payments on account
• Monitor AR aging and research outstanding balances
• Various job cost entries including material requisitions, vehicle / equipment R&M expenses, and inter-company equipment rent
• Monthly cell phone reimbursements and semi-annual verification
• Perform account reconciliations and analysis
• Process online loan payments and reconcile balances
• Reconcile and post credit card purchases
• Recap and post approved fuel card purchases
• Vehicle / trailer registration and annual registration renewal
• Reporting vehicle / equipment additions for insurance coverage
• Vehicle accident reporting / filing claims
• Dollar bank account reconciliation and employee statements
• Annual 1095 reporting assistance
• Various administrative tasks including but not limited to assisting with phones, office equipment, ordering forms, and distributing mail
• Continuing education with a commitment to expand construction industry knowledge
• Work with the Central team to improve efficiency and accuracy of accounting procedures
• Future tasks and assignments as determined
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience
• Accounting / office administration background with excellent organizational skills and the ability to transition quickly to working independently.
• Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills
• High attention to confidentiality, detail, and accountability
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and function successfully in a busy work environment
• Effective written and verbal professional communication skills.
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork and professionalism with a positive attitude
• Ability to perform job duties in a safe manner
  
  

Physical Demands

The physical demands necessary for the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include the following: 1) the ability to sit for long periods of time on a repetitive basis, 2) the ability to walk up and down stairways, and 3) a full range of body movement, including the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, operate computer equipment, and perform bending, reaching, and crouching. Required to pass a drug test.

Travel Demands

Travel away from the home office is rare, but if required it will be scheduled in advance.

Work Hours

Normal work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday (can be adjusted as needed).
