Temporary Summer Position

90 Days or Less

$23.00 /hr.

Note: This is a full time, temporary position for the summer, with primary focuses for students.

Summary

1. Provide general labor services as needed in the plant and mine as required.
2. Store, stock and handle all material including but not limited to; fuel, rock, clinker, and cement.
3. Operate mobile equipment, cement loading, shipping, reclaim and transfer equipment.
4. Perform basic repairs to facilitate plant operation.
5. Special Projects

Specific Accountabilities:

1. Operate mobile equipment.
2. Perform inspections on mobile equipment.
3. Perform necessary tasks to ensure good housekeeping for a safe and efficient operation.
4. Assist other departments as needed.
5. Work with little or no supervision.
6. Contribute to daily reports and other routine reports about special projects or incidents.
7. Perform cleaning tasks in the warehouse area such as broken pallets, empty pallets, floors and shelves in the warehouse.
8. Ensure the own safety and that of the work site and inform the Supervisor of any existing irregularity.
9. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

• Must have a history of working in a safe manner.
• Have a good attitude and customer service oriented
• Must be very well organized and manage time and priorities in a way that results in a minimal backlog.
• Must have a working knowledge of computers and computerized receiving and distribution systems, maintenance systems and be capable of applying the knowledge to daily transaction processing.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
