Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain HDD locating equipment to precisely identify underground utilities during drilling operations
- Collaborate with drill operators and construction teams to ensure accurate positioning and avoid utility strikes
- Conduct thorough site inspections to identify existing pipeline routes and potential hazards
- Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines, to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of heavy equipment such as excavators, water trucks, forklifts, and other construction machinery
- Maintain detailed records of locating activities, equipment logs, and safety inspections
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate project tasks and ensure timely completion of drilling operations
Requirements
- Proven experience operating F2 Locators
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipeline installation, horizontal drilling techniques, and construction site operations
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for construction site safety
- Strong understanding of underground utility locating methods and tools used in horizontal directional drilling projects
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for operating tanker trucks or water trucks on site
- Experience working on construction sites involving oil & gas or pipeline projects is highly desirable
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety awareness
