What are the responsibilities and job description for the Courier Driver position at Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank?
- Deliver blood products. two positions:
- 1. -Schedule is overnight Friday 10 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday 10 p.m. to 10 a.m., Sunday 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- 2. - Saturday & Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with potential for other hours
- Must have valid driver’s license and clearance to drive CPBB vehicles.
- Drive and maintain courier vehicle.
- Monitor and maintain supplies for the distribution area and courier operations.
- Perform pick-up and delivery tasks as instructed by the lead, Laboratory Director, or Chief Operating Officer and related to CPBB product and customer needs.
- Assist with distribution and inventory needs and tasks such as shipping, boxing, packing, temperature monitoring, cleaning, and QC.
- Assist with receipt of deliveries, building maintenance, and document shredding as required or instructed.
- Participate in off hours, weekend and holiday phone and product procurement and delivery coverage. Generally works 1 to 2 holidays per year.
- Work is performed in accordance with Federal and state rules, regulations, Blood Bank policies and procedures, and in compliance with direction provided by the Chief Operating Officer.
- Assists in laboratory as needed spinning blood and performing other duties as assigned.
Knowledges, Skills and Abilities:
Must have valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
Knowledge of mechanical and vehicle maintenance requirements
Knowledge of safety, OSHA and Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
One to three months of experience and/or training
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Must have valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License with a clean driving record
