What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNA Apprentice position at Central Peninsula Hospital?
POSITION SUMMARY: The CNA Apprenticeship program prepares students for the Alaska CNA certification exam while being actively employed. Students accepted into this program will be employees of Central Peninsula Hospital/Heritage Place in a paid position while receiving the skills and education needed to obtain Alaska licensure as a CNA. This program is up to 16 weeks in duration. It includes 60 hours of classroom instruction and a minimum of 80 hours of clinical experience. While completing the classroom instruction and clinical portion of the program, students will be supervised directly and work side by side with an instructor and/or a certified nursing assistant. After the completion and successful graduation of the formal CNA training course, members of this program will gain additional clinical experience by working as a nursing assistant while preparing to take the certification exam.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED
- BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
- Ability to complete the CNA Program and obtain Alaska licensure as a CNA is required within 16 weeks of employment.
