What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist - International Banking (Japanese Speaking) position at Central Pacific Bank?

Position Function:

Works with International Banking Officer in sales and managing and growing a portfolio of clients, either jointly, as a backup, or in a support role. Position may have emphasis on handling incoming email/ telephone calls from internal/external customers according to established Call Center standards in a professional manner, and taking follow-up action as necessary. Required to periodically provide same service to Japanese customers as branch personal bankers.  Emphasis will be on supporting the Japanese Opens new accounts, handles new or renewal of CDs, issues cashiers' checks, prepares wire transaction forms, prepares loan applications and performs other banking related functions.  Above functions include discussing and interacting with customers as part of the sales and support of the International Banking Officer

Primary Accountabilities:

  • See above Position function.  In addition, manages and assists in the administrative duties and tasks for the group. 
  • Responsible to maintain and manage customer information database and financial profiles of customers to assist selling efforts and provide management reports that develop customer leads and marketing programs..  
  • Ensure daily operational efficiency in compliance with regulations and CPB policies and procedures.  Resolves client issues and concerns independently.  Interact with third party vendors on client’s behalf
  • Client Property Payment Service: Market to potential customers as needed, in conjunction with managing and growing this portfolio of clients.  This includes but is not limited to a) help managing bill payment operations; (b) handling new CPPS Client Agreement setup, maintenance and closures; (c) responding to client inquiries and requests in an accurate, timely and professional manner and (d) assisting International Banking Officer to fulfill customers’ banking needs and requests. . Ensure compliance with regulations and CPB policies and procedures

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Specialist I, II, III, or Senior:

  • High school or GED equivalent diploma required.

Experience:

Specialist I:

  • 1 years of customer service experience required.
  • Proficiency in Japanese language preferred; ability to read, write, and communicate in a business setting.

Specialist II:

  • 2 years of customer service experience required.
  • Proficiency in Japanese language preferred; ability to read, write, and communicate in a business setting.

Specialist III:

  • 3 years of customer service experience required.
  • Proficiency in Japanese language preferred; ability to read, write, and communicate in a business setting.

Senior Specialist:

  • 4 years of customer service experience required.
  • Proficiency in Japanese language preferred; ability to read, write, and communicate in a business setting.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents. 
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time.  Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.

Salary : $47,017 - $61,122
