Central PA Medical Transport is seeking a motivated and EXPERIENCED Dispatcher to join our expanding team. We are a fast-growing agency, and we need YOU! Our dispatch team plays a critical role in coordinating Non-Emergency Medical Transportation services, including ambulances, wheelchair vans, and secure psychiatric transport vehicles. Dispatchers are responsible for ensuring efficient scheduling, clear communication, and timely transportation operations throughout each shift.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and highly organized Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Dispatcher to join our operations team. This position is responsible for coordinating and dispatching ambulances, wheelchair vans, and secure psychiatric transport SUVs while ensuring safe, timely, and efficient transportation services for patients and healthcare facilities.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong communication and multitasking skills, and can remain calm and professional under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch and coordinate ambulances, wheelchair vans, and secure psychiatric transport vehicles efficiently and safely
  • Monitor vehicle locations and driver status throughout shifts
  • Communicate with hospitals, nursing facilities, behavioral health facilities, and medical staff regarding transport updates and ETA’s
  • Schedule and prioritize transportation requests based on urgency, staffing, and vehicle availability
  • Maintain accurate trip documentation and dispatch logs
  • Ensure drivers and crews have complete trip information and required documentation
  • Handle incoming calls professionally and provide excellent customer service
  • Monitor radio, phone, and dispatch software systems simultaneously
  • Assist with resolving transportation delays, route changes, and operational issues in real time
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, HIPAA regulations, and transportation procedures
  • Coordinate secure psychiatric transports with professionalism, discretion, and attention to safety protocols

Qualifications

  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
  • Proficient computer and data entry skills
  • Experience with dispatch software, GPS systems, or transportation scheduling platforms is a plus
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare transportation operations preferred
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work evenings and alternating Saturdays

Scheduling:

  • 2nd Shift
  • 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday (2PM-10PM)
  • Every other Saturday 12-Hour Shift (8AM-8PM)
  • Full Time
  • No major holidays

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to pass FBI, PA & Child Abuse Clearances
  • Ability to pass a pre placement Drug Screening

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
