Responsibilities
Pharmacy Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greet customers in person and over the phone, providing information and appropriately referring questions outside of scope to the pharmacist
- Review and process new and refill prescription orders upon receipt
- Accurately fill prescriptions and label bottles and containers
- Enter and maintain patient profile information in the pharmacy system
- Process prescription insurance claims and assist with prior authorizations as needed
- Prepare home delivery packages to ensure accurate and timely delivery
- Notify customers when prescriptions are ready for pickup
- Assist pharmacists with routine daily operations
- Maintain inventory at appropriate par levels and remove expired products for proper disposal
- Maintain a current understanding of Ohio pharmacy law
- Ensure a clean, organized work environment in compliance with company and regulatory standards
Specifications
Required
- Eligible for State Board Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Clean background record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (required within 90 days of hire; exam reimbursement provided upon passing)
- Retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desired
- 1–2 years of pharmacy experience
