What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Support Specialist position at Central Office?
Reports to: Director of Technology
General Summary: This position performs office functions and assists the Director of Technology with varying job responsibilities Including but not limited to answering the technology support phone line, offering customer service and end user support, escalating and routing requests as needed. Working directly with the technology team on project and device implementations. The fundamentals of this position are to aid in the ongoing support of students, teachers and the Technology Department staff.
Essential Functions:
- Acts as a first point of contact in assisting staff, to relay problems with district assigned technology. This will be achieved through answering the technical support line and connecting the requests to the right team member.
- Utilizes the Technology Ticketing system for exchange of information and advice; implements solutions or notifies Level2 Tech of escalated need.
- Routes technology support tickets as needed.
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills with building staff and team members in routine situations.
- Assist with inventory of technology assets.
- Assist with acquiring quotes and completing approved purchases for new equipment and supplies.
- Processes invoices, and purchase orders, by maintenance of department records and submitting them to the business department for payment.
- Performs a variety of clerical and support work.
- Participates in project meetings and maintains project trackers.
- Coordinates meetings and demonstrations with current and prospective vendors.
- Performs other duties and requests as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintains confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/G.E.D
- Problem Solver
- Self-Starter
- General Knowledge or motivation to learn: computers/word processing
- General Knowledge or motivation to learn: basic mobile devices
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to solve independently most minor problems
Length of Position:
- 8 hours daily. Monday-Friday throughout the school year for a total of 52 weeks per year.
