Job Title: Quality & Compliance Lead (ISO 9001 / Manufacturing)
Location: Cortland, NY
Pay: $55,000 – $65,000 per year
Overview
We are a growing cable manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Quality & Compliance Lead to take ownership of our quality system, support production, and drive continuous improvement.
This is not a desk job. This role works directly on the production floor, solving problems in real time, supporting operators, and ensuring products meet quality and compliance standards.

What You’ll Do
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Support CMMC-related compliance practices and documentation
- Lead internal audits and support external audits
- Manage nonconformance reports and corrective actions
- Develop and update SOPs and quality procedures
Production & Floor Support
- Work directly with operators to ensure quality standards are met
- Verify setups and monitor processes during production
- Troubleshoot quality issues alongside the team
- Train employees on quality expectations and testing methods
Continuous Improvement
- Track scrap, rework, and defect trends
- Identify root causes and implement improvements
- Support lean and process improvement initiatives
Testing & Inspection
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and fiber-optic testing
- Conduct incoming and final inspections
- Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 2 years of quality experience in manufacturing
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Comfortable working on the production floor daily
- Experience documenting processes and resolving issues
Preferred
- Experience with cable, electronics, or fiber-optic products
- Familiarity with CMMC or compliance frameworks
- Hands-on testing experience (electrical or mechanical)
- Lean or continuous improvement exposure
