Job Summary
This Receiver Position will plays a key role in the efficient operation of a retail hardware store by managing the flow of goods from suppliers to the store. This includes unloading deliveries, verifying shipment accuracy, checking for damaged or missing items, stocking merchandise, and maintaining organized stock areas. The Receiver works closely with inventory, sales, and management teams to ensure products are readily available for customers and store operations run smoothly. A Receiver ensures merchandise is properly and safely unloaded from incoming trucks. The Receiver must count all merchandise and compare the actual count to the purchase order and document any discrepancies. The Receiver must inform store management of any discrepancies, Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Unload incoming deliveries using safe lifting practices and/or equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, dollies).
- Check shipments for accuracy against purchase orders or packing slips.
- Inspect for damage, defects, or missing items and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately label and organize stock in the backroom or designated storage areas.
- Restock shelves or bins on the sales floor as directed.
- Assist with regular inventory counts and cycle checks.
- Maintain proper rotation of stock to reduce spoilage or obsolescence.
- Record and report any shipment variances or issues to management.
- Complete receiving logs, stock adjustment forms, and other inventory documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department or vendors regarding issues or returns.
- Assist sales associates with locating stock or fulfilling special customer orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Follow all safety procedures and report hazards promptly.
- Must be able to climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, lift up to 100 lbs., handle large odd-shaped items, and stock items in overhead areas.
