Production Engineer

Central Motor Wheel of America is growing, and we want you to grow with us! We are currently seeking Manufacturing Engineers to fill vacant production openings in our Aluminum buildings in both the Casting and Paint Departments. You will be joining a team of professionals that is dedicating to providing a quality product and continually will push the boundaries as we seek to grow into the future.
What makes a Production Engineer successful?
1. Someone that is capable of recognizing problems, and then being confident taking the action to solve them. We want candidates that are confident in taking initiative and owning their mistakes to learn from them.
2. We also want individuals that are capable of sharing their knowledge; over the course of your work day you will interact with production members from diverse backgrounds, and part of the success desired in this role will be an individual’s ability to explain and develop concepts to help troubleshooting conversations take shape.
3. Being able to effectively communicate with others, manage your own time, and have the capability to perform the administrative tasks required are a big must.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in preparing and running Production trials.
- Tracks/analyzes all results and statistical data from trials involving changes to equipment and/or dies and compiles comprehensive reports.
- Develops countermeasures for manufacturing process problems.
- Analyzes major scrap and hindrances to productivity; makes recommendations on possible countermeasures based on sound maintenance/engineering principles.
- Responsible for Kaizen efforts in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Experience in metal forming, fluid power (hydraulics), and TPS manufacturing principles is a plus!
Requirements for both Positions:
- BS in Engineering required, or in an appropriate discipline related to Engineering
- Willingness to be “Hands-On” on the production floor.
- A minimum of (2) years’ experience is necessary.
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
- Problem Solving ability and experience is a must.
- Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license.
Casting Department:
- Experience with or ability to quickly understand the complexities of the aluminum casting process
- Familiarity with a foundry environment a plus, but not a requirement
Paint Department:
- Experience in both liquid and powder coat processes preferred, but not required
Compensation:
- Excellent salary opportunities ranging from $65,000-$80,000
