Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery to support construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision on-site. Your expertise will help drive project success from excavation and grading to material transportation and site preparation. Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other machinery safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Perform site preparation tasks including grading, trenching, and land clearing using appropriate machinery.
- Transport materials using dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, front loader trucks, and tanker trucks as needed for various phases of construction.
- Assist with concrete mixing operations and support the placement of concrete structures when required.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols and construction site regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks effectively and meet project deadlines.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and Caterpillar machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance.
- Construction site experience with an understanding of safety standards and operational procedures.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience driving is a plus not required.
- Ability to read technical manuals and interpret construction plans accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
