How You’ll Make An Impact
The LPN in Crisis is responsible for providing standard patient care under the supervision of a physician or Registered Nurse (RN) within a family driven, trauma informed framework.
- Complete a focused nursing assessment under the direction of a Crisis Qualified Designated RN.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the Medical Director and/or consulting physician.
- Record and report change in client’s physical and mental condition to the Crisis Qualified Designated RN, Medical Director and/or Program Director as well as Crisis staff and the Crisis Clinical Supervisor.
- Report possible suicidal or assaultive ideations, vulnerable adult and child maltreatment incidents.
- Advise Crisis staff when a client may need a higher level of care such as Urgent Care or an Emergency Room visit.
- Monitor clients for medication side effects and drug interactions.
- Provide education within scope of practice to clients regarding a variety of health-related topics including education about the importance of medication adherence and tobacco cessation.
- Participate as a valued crisis program team member by assisting with rounds, light housekeeping tasks and disinfecting units to maintain infection control compliance.
- Perform basic health screenings, including screening for risk of self-harm, in coordination with Crisis Staff.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 2-year nursing degree from an accredited practical nursing program & Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Minnesota
- Qualify as a Mental Health Practitioner per Minnesota Statue (245I.04).
- Clear DHS background study.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
- 2 or more years’ nursing experience preferred.
- Target Range - $24.00 - $26.50 (Commensurate with experience)
- Full Time: Sunday – Wednesday or Wednesday – Saturday
- Days: 7AM – 4PM
- Evenings: 2PM – 11PM
