Hutchinson Utilities Commission seeks qualified applicants for the position of Welder/ Serviceperson I or II. Duties include installing and replacing distribution main, service lines, and metering and regulating facilities, records creation and maintenance, assisting with outages and other emergencies, responding to service calls, following safety rules and regulations, and equipment and vehicle operation. Requires H.S. diploma/ GED. Must maintain all necessary Operator Qualifications. Valid Minnesota Class A commercial driver’s license required. Desirable qualifications include knowledge of DOT pipeline and industry standards. DOT Part 192, Appendix C, welding and polyethylene fusion certifications, pipeline locating, and natural gas transmission and distribution systems installation and maintenance experience along with one - three years’ experience in the natural gas construction industry desired. 2026 starting pay range: $36.80 -$51.05/hr. per the union contract and dependent upon experience and qualifications. Competitive benefit package.
