Job description
Central Mine Equipment Company is a manufacturer of Drilling Equipment used in the Geotechnical and Environmental fields.
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our team. You will be responsible for reviewing specifications and provided data to develop mechanical layouts / models. Successful candidates must have a working knowledge of mechanical parts as well as knowledge utilizing Computer Aided Design software. A strong working knowledge in Autocad Inventor Software is a plus. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong drafting skills and a passion for mechanical engineering.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed mechanical drawings and models based on specifications provided by engineers.
- 2D & 3D Drafting using Autocad Software.
- Selection of purchased components and materials including working directly with vendors.
- Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and ensure accuracy of drawings.
- Apply knowledge of industry codes and standards to ensure compliance in designs.
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to accurately define dimensions and tolerances.
- Review and revise drawings as necessary based on feedback from engineers or clients.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation.
- Conduct research to stay updated on new drafting techniques and technologies
Skills
- Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design software; experience with Autocad Inventor 3D is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions well and communicate with shop personnel and others.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Familiarity with shop production methods (forming, welding, machining).
- Attention to detail.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and DC electrical circuits and components a plus.
- Should be familiar with Microsoft Office software.
Education
Associates Degree or equivalent related to mechanical design and/or CAD drafting
Experience
2 years work experience in related work
