Position Summary

Under the supervision of the dean, the coordinator of recruiting is responsible for planning, coordinating, and staffing the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (CLASS) recruiting events and for building strong working relationships across the University to grow CLASS enrollment. The coordinator serves as the college's primary liaison to CMU Admissions and works closely with Academic Advising, Success Coaches, CMU Online, CMU Athletics, and other campus units to align, coordinate, and schedule recruitment initiatives that connect prospective and current students to CLASS programs. The coordinator partners closely with CLASS chairs and programs to stay current with their programs and students. The coordinator works closely with the CLASS Hub to recruit students by leveraging Hub services.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.

Three years of related work experience, preferably in an education or office environment.

Ability to articulate the focus and value of programs in the college, and the Liberal Arts in general.

Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, with prospective students, families, and campus partners.

Demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple concurrent events, meeting recurring time-sensitive deadlines.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and commit the college to actions within delegated authority.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal campus partners and units.

Knowledge of current trends in higher education admissions, student recruitment, enrollment management, and student success and retention.

Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree.

Experience planning and coordinating student recruitment, yield, or campus visit events.

Experience collaborating with admissions, advising, athletics, online, or student success units.

Experience with career readiness, internships, or student career services.

Experience working with transfer credit and transfer students at 2- or 4-year institutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Serves as the college's primary point of contact and knowledgeable resource for CLASS recruitment.

Communicates with prospective, admitted, and current students and campus partners to generate interest in and support for CLASS programs.

Plans, coordinates, and staffs CLASS undergraduate recruiting and yield events, including CMU & U Days, Discovery Days, Maroon and Gold events, and the Centralis competition.

Commits the college to recruitment event dates and formats and manages associated event logistics.

Chairs the college Recruitment Committee, comprised of representatives from CLASS departments and represents CLASS at university-wide recruitment and admissions events.

Serves as the college's primary liaison to CMU Admissions.

Works closely with Academic Advising, Success Coaches, CMU Online, CMU Athletics, and other university units to align calendars, share information, and reduce duplication of effort in support of CLASS enrollment goals.

Partners with the CLASS Hub to recruit students by leveraging Hub services and promoting its guiding vision: study what you love, and the Hub will help you launch your career.

Manages transfer student articulation agreements, pathways, and 2 2, 3 1, and 2 3 agreements in coordination with CMU Admissions and CMU Online.

Coordinates campus visits and individualized visit experiences for prospective CLASS students and their families.

Develops and coordinates recruitment communications, materials, and event schedules in coordination with the CLASS Dean's Office staff to support consistent messaging across CLASS programs and partner units.

Maintains prospective-student communication and follow-up using university systems and ensures accuracy and confidentiality in handling student records and recruitment data.

Tracks and reports recruitment, yield, and enrollment data to inform college recruitment strategy and the strategic enrollment management plan.

Maintains and cultivates relationships with all CLASS departments to stay current with programs, students, and ongoing college priorities.

Recruits, schedules, and supports faculty, staff, and student participants for recruiting events.

Tracks and manages the recruitment events budget expenditures with accuracy.
