Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Men’s Basketball Operations and Player Development serves a key role in supporting the daily administration, organization, and operational success of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball program. This position is responsible for assisting with player development initiatives and overseeing a variety of operational functions that contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the program. Responsibilities include coordinating team travel and logistics, supporting recruiting operations, maintaining compliance-related documentation, managing equipment and inventory, assisting with budget and purchasing processes, and coordinating camps, clinics, community engagement activities, and special events.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

At least 1 year of experience in collegiate athletics, basketball operations, student-athlete development, athletic administration, or a related field.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively with student-athletes and individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Collegiate men’s basketball playing experience.

Experience with technology utilized in collegiate men’s basketball programs (Synergy, Sports Code, Teamworks, Fast Scout, Hudl. etc.)

Experience supporting collegiate athletics operations, student-athlete development initiatives, recruiting operations, event management, or program administration.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with the administration, organization, and day-to-day operation of the Men’s Basketball program.

Support player development initiatives and student-athlete engagement efforts while serving as a resource to help connect student-athletes with university and athletics department support services.

Coordinate and manage operational functions including team travel, logistics, recruiting support, compliance documentation, equipment and inventory management, and budget-related purchasing processes.

Assist with the planning and execution of camps, clinics, community engagement initiatives, and special events.

Collaborate with student-athletes, athletics staff, campus partners, and external stakeholders to support program objectives and ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned in support of program and departmental goals.
