Job Overview
Central Mechanical Systems is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team. We primarily focus in millwright services, structural steel, pneumatic & mechanical conveying systems, dust collection services and spark detection. The ideal candidate would have a minimum three years of prior experience in this industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Develop mechanical designs from engineering concepts, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and engineering documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
- Revise existing designs to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, company specifications, and applicable codes.
- Participate in design reviews and implement engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs).
- Maintain accurate design files and engineering documentation within the company's document management system.
- Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and assembly issues.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Technology, or a related field.
- 2 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (entry-level candidates with strong internships may be considered).
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or similar.
- Strong understanding of mechanical components, fabrication methods, machining, sheet metal, and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Pay: $45.00 - $70.00 per hour
