Job Overview
Central Mechanical Systems is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team. We primarily focus in millwright services, structural steel, pneumatic & mechanical conveying systems, dust collection services and spark detection. The ideal candidate would have a minimum three years of prior experience in this industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Develop mechanical designs from engineering concepts, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Prepare manufacturing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
  • Revise existing designs to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, company specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Participate in design reviews and implement engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs).
  • Maintain accurate design files and engineering documentation within the company's document management system.
  • Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and assembly issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Technology, or a related field.
  • 2 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (entry-level candidates with strong internships may be considered).
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, fabrication methods, machining, sheet metal, and welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45.00 - $70.00 per hour
