What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transition/Vocational Coordinator position at Central Massachusetts Collaborative?
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
The Transition/Vocational Coordinator is an energetic and flexible employee who is eager to work in our therapeutic day school with a high needs population of students ages 14 to 22. This position is accountable for providing support for transitional/vocational services to students through resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the rules and regulations of the Central Massachusetts Collaborative.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for promoting a positive school climate that fosters high student expectations and employs appropriate strategies that address multiple learning styles for all students.
2. Responsible for supporting program staff with developing and implementing effective effective transition and vocational plans/programs to support student learning and skill acquisition.
3. Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills to continually support the school and its students positively and in a professional manner at all opportunities.
4. Collaborates with program administration to build networks with community partners, locate and coordinate onsite and offsite prevocational and vocational opportunities for students and be the point person for onsite and offsite job placements.
5. Responsible for coordinating group peer to peer meetings for vocational and transitional staff and providing oversight to all transitional and vocational services.
6. Assists program administration in coordinating vocational sessions and master schedules for vocational programs in order to provide services to students.
7. Supports the monitoring of student's progress and attendance and progress for students enrolled in transitional and vocational programs through close communication with administration, teachers, clinicians, students and parents.
8. Supports the implementation, as directed, of pre-vocational and vocational curriculum that enhance teaching and learning under Massachusetts State Frameworks.
9. Assist with the coordination of transitional/vocational testing schedules and supports the development and implementation of transition plans
10. Responsible for overseeing student records that document service provision and required documentation for assigned caseload.
11. Provides data as requested to support completion of mandated state and federal reports as assigned.
12. Supports effective crisis management and communicates with all stakeholders and situations in a professional manner at all times.
13. Complete CPI/nonviolent crisis intervention training upon hire and maintain CPI/nonviolent crisis intervention certification.
14. Collaborates with program administration to develop and implement a program for professional development regarding transition and vocational planning.
15. Assists in the coordination and supervision of day-to-day functions and activities such as transportation, hall and cafeteria monitoring and recess schedules through close communication with the Director.
16. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
