Position Summary

Central Market is looking for a dependable and hardworking Full-Time Overnight Baker to join our team!

The Baker is responsible for preparing, baking, decorating, packaging, and merchandising a variety of fresh baked goods. This position plays an important role in maintaining the quality, freshness, appearance, and availability of products in our bakery department.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, rolls, cookies, cakes, pastries, pies, and other bakery products according to recipes and department standards.
• Follow recipes, production schedules, and proper baking techniques to ensure consistent quality.
• Decorate and finish bakery products with attention to appearance and presentation.
• Prepare, package, label, date, and price bakery products for sale.
• Maintain attractive, well-stocked bakery displays.
• Monitor product freshness and quality and rotate products appropriately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in accordance with food safety standards.
• Properly operate and maintain bakery equipment, ovens, mixers, and other bakery tools.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, temperature control, and workplace safety procedures.
• Minimize waste through proper production planning, product rotation, and handling.
• Assist with inventory, receiving, stocking, and maintaining appropriate product levels.
• Provide friendly and helpful customer service when assisting customers with bakery products or special requests.
• Work collaboratively with other bakery and store employees to ensure the department operates efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager or Store Management.

Qualifications

• Previous baking or bakery experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality products.
• Ability to follow recipes and written instructions accurately.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and cleanliness.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable attendance and a positive attitude.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull products and supplies.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a warm bakery environment.
• Ability and willingness to work an overnight schedule.

Schedule

Full-Time — 10:00 PM–6:00 AM

• Regularly scheduled 10:00 PM–6:00 AM overnight shifts.
• Weekend availability is required.
• Weekend and holiday work is required as part of the regular schedule.
• Full-time employees are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry products, ingredients, and supplies.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and work in refrigerated and warm environments.
• Ability to safely operate bakery equipment after appropriate training.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
