Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Assist with monthly financial reports for residential and commercial properties
- Analyze budget-to-actual results and help prepare variance explanations
- Track and report on key performance metrics such as NOI, occupancy, rent growth, and operating expenses
- Support cash flow tracking and basic forecasting tasks
Budgeting & Forecast Support
- Assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets
- Maintain budget models and update forecasts based on actual results
- Help track capital expenditures and project spending against budget
Property-Level Financial Support
- Assist with rent roll reviews, expense coding accuracy, and financial data validation
- Support CAM reconciliations, expense recoveries, and tenant billings (as applicable)
- Work with property managers to resolve financial discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy
Data Management & Process Improvement
- Maintain financial models, reports, and dashboards in Excel
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across accounting and property management systems
- Help improve reporting templates, processes, and internal controls
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or related field
- 0–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or analytical roles (internship experience acceptable)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, basic financial models, pivot tables)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to analyze data and clearly communicate findings
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to property management or real estate finance
- Familiarity with property management/accounting software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, RealPage)
- Knowledge of basic real estate concepts such as rent rolls, operating expenses, and NOI
- Interest in a long-term career in real estate, finance, or asset management
