Responsibilities
The Imaging Support Specialist/Radiology Receptionist performs clerical duties for the Radiology Department such as answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing requisitions for outpatients.
The Radiology Receptionist / File Clerk duties include, but are not limited to:
- Filing patient reports, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records.
- Demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of tests ordered in Radiology.
- Demonstrate good telephone etiquette and be able to greet patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner.
- Maneuvers through reception area, as well as, outside storage area.
- Provides clerical support by utilizing telephone, computer, office equipment, PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System) and by running errands throughout the facility.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in related area preferred.
- Two years’ experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Previous scheduling experience strongly preferred.
