Behavioral MTSS Specialist (K - 12th Grade)

Reports to: Special Education Director


Central Linn School District is seeking a student-centered Behavioral Specialist to join our team. We are looking for a compassionate professional who prioritizes building strong relationships, collaborates effectively with staff and families, and is committed to supporting every student's social, emotional, behavioral, and academic success. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students develop the skills and supports they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering positive school climates, implementing effective behavioral interventions, writing behavior support plans, monitoring the MTSS system, and promoting student well-being across all grade levels.


Central Linn School District serves approximately 470 students from the communities of Halsey, Brownsville, Shedd, and Peoria in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Our close-knit, small-town setting provides convenient access to Corvallis and Eugene (about 30 minutes away) and is within 90 minutes of both the Oregon Coast and the Cascade Mountains.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Behavioral MTSS Specialist works to engage students in the school setting by providing behavioral support. Through leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, the Behavioral MTSS Specialist will provide preventative and proactive student assessment, counseling, and behavior consultation through support plans in partnership with staff, families, and local agencies.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  • Valid State of Oregon TSPC license with an endorsement in Counseling.
  • Experience working in a school behavior and MTSS environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents in order to achieve the best outcomes.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve and guide identified students to engage with behavioral counseling, develop decision-making skills, obtain information about themselves, and accept increasing responsibilities for their own actions.
  • Work directly with students, student groups, and their families to promote overall behavioral health and wellness, assist students in developing skills in interpersonal relations, and utilize school and community resources.
  • Consult with staff on managing behavior strategies and wrap-around supports for students.
  • Build, implement, and monitor behavior support plans for students
  • Modeling and teaching respect with an awareness of diversity; Demonstrating continuous professional growth.
  • Participate in relevant professional development and stay abreast of district policies on restraint and seclusion procedures.
  • Maintain current First Aid certification.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
