DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Tasks listed are intended to be descriptive and not restrictive. An employee in this classification may perform any of the tasks listed; however, these examples do not include all the tasks which an employee may be expected to perform.
The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits. The amount of time performing each function may vary day-to-day. All duties shall be performed in an efficient and professional manner in accordance with applicable labor agreements and Central Lincoln’s Safety Manual and under the direct supervision of a designated supervisor.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Operation, maintenance, inspection and repair of electric utility and automotive equipment:
- Maintain, repair, and replacement of all utility automotive and mechanical equipment.
- Maintain procedures for required Oregon DOT, OSHA inspections and dielectric testing, regular maintenance, repair, and operation of all equipment.
- Assist with equipment replacement program and fiscal schedule.
- Assist with procurement specifications and provides inspections for all new and used equipment.
Transportation and delivery of vehicles to and from repair facilities.
Vehicle Inventory:
- Assist with maintaining up to date inventory of vehicles and equipment for insurance coverage.
- Assist with changes in vehicle inventory to insurance provider immediately when any vehicles or equipment are added or removed from inventory.
- Assist with supporting the GPS vehicle tracking and maintenance system.
- Assist with Fuel card system and fueling oversight as needed.
- Emergency recovery and repair of down equipment.
- Complete timecards, reports, data tickets, logs, job-related forms, and other similar paperwork accurately, completely, timely, and in the format prescribed and explained by Human Resources or supervisors.
Maintain regular, consistent, and predictable onsite attendance, including being available, accessible, and able to complete all required essential functions and assigned job tasks during the assigned work schedule.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Level
High School Diploma / GED
Specifics: Associates degree in Diesel Mechanics or Diesel Technology preferred.
Minimum Experience Level
2-3 Year's
Specifics: Experience with diesel motor and/or automotive maintenance, trouble shooting, repair and operations. Experience in specification of electric utility equipment and automotive equipment is preferred.
Certifications
Automotive Technology or certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence as a Master Automobile Technician or Master Truck Technician preferred.

Desirable Qualifications:
Diesel motor and/or automotive mechanical experience is preferred, but not required. International Fluid power society Mobile Hydraulic experience is preferred, but not required. Class A CDL.

- Engineering principles related to the design and operation of specialized electric utility and automotive equipment.
- Gas and diesel engines, drive trains, suspensions, brakes, hydraulic systems, maintenance and repair practices.
- Types and capabilities of equipment used in the electric utility industry.
- General knowledge of pertinent federal, state, local laws, regulations and standards as well as Central Lincoln policies and procedures covering safety.
- Computer applications including document, presentation, spreadsheet and database programs.
Skill or ability to:
- Effective one-on-one and group presentations and facilitation.
- Using strong oral and written communication techniques for the interpersonal communications required to manage sensitive safety and investigative matters.

Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers and members of the public, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and/or presence on-site.
Approximately 40 hours / week may be required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position, including presence at designated internal and external meetings. This position also requires availability and accessibility to respond to and address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the evenings and/or during weekends.
