Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, and fertilizing to keep lawns and gardens thriving
- Identify and care for a wide variety of plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers to promote healthy growth
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators safely and efficiently for landscaping projects
- Install and maintain irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering schedules and plant health
- Manage pest control through pesticide application following safety guidelines and environmental standards
- Construct hardscape features like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures
- Conduct seasonal snow plowing operations to keep properties accessible during winter months
Experience
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening preferred; construction experience is a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and tools
- Familiarity with plant identification, horticulture practices, and tree care techniques
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators safely and effectively
- Experience with snow plowing and winter storm management is advantageous
- Excellent understanding of lawn care routines including mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and pest management
