What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Specialist- Martin Youth Center position at Central Kansas Mental Health Center?
Central Kansas Mental Health Center has full-time openings as a Mental Health Specialist in our Martin Youth Crisis Center. Our full-time openings are during 2nd shift, 2-10p and 3-11p which also includes a shift differential and some weekends. This position works with children that need extra support, with the goal of keeping them in the community. We want to teach youth in our services skills to cope with their mental health needs and will coach them to keep working towards their goals. Mental Health Specialists will work with kids individually and in group settings so they can practice the skills they have learned. The ideal candidate should be confident in their ability to stabilize the identified crisis safely. Assess the strengths and needs of the person in crisis and find innovative solutions by working with the child and treatment team.
