Location: Central Iowa (base in West Des Moines, Iowa)

Position Overview:
As a Tow Operator at Roy's Towing and Recovery, you will play a vital role in providing safe, reliable towing and roadside assistance services to customers in need. You will operate rollback (flatbed) and/or wheel-lift (wrecker) tow trucks to transport disabled, damaged, or illegally parked vehicles while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate rollback trucks (flatbeds) and/or wheel lift tow trucks (wreckers) to tow vehicles.
- Provide roadside assistance including lockout services, tire changes, jump starts, and fuel deliveries.
- Assist customers with their towing needs in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safe transport of vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company standards.
- Opportunity to transition to a heavy operator role with additional responsibilities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license (must be 21 or older).
- Ability to drive and operate towing equipment safely.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on helping people in emergency situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle stressful and emergency situations calmly and professionally.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends (rotating schedule).
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks.
